England wing Jack Nowell will travel to the Rugby World Cup in Japan on Sunday despite being struck down with appendicitis while also recovering from his long-standing ankle problem.

Newlyn-born Nowell spent four days in hospital after having his appendix removed last week, but he has now joined up with the rest of the squad.

Truro City bounced back from last weekend’s disappointment in the best possible fashion as the White Tigers came out comfortable 0-2 winners away at Farnborough.

The Cornish Pirates will kick-off its new season with a debut partner after confirming a sponsorship deal with pasty-maker, Ginsters.

Ginsters will also unveil a bespoke pasty for Pirates fans; a hand crimped Steak and Ale Pasty, filled with chunks of 100% British beef and local vegetables, whenever possible.
