WENDRON United ended a four-game losing run with a four-goal victory at Sticker on Friday night.

The Dron were two goals up at the break via Jack Noy's tap-in and Jack Walker's own goal.

Noy made it three on the hour but Aaron Taylor quickly pulled one back, only for Dan Quirke to make the game safe with a fine finish a coupe of minutes later.

Paul Cox came off the bench to pull another for the hosts in injury-time, but all three points were still heading Wendron's way for the first time in six games.

Noy had a good opportunity to open the scoring after just four minutes when he was put through on goal, but he could not find a way past Sticker goalkeeper Anton Lake.

Wendron enjoyed a period of pressure early on with Jack Stocker driving just over the bar from distance before forcing a save from Lake, with Joe Chapman doing the same moments later.

The visitors converted that pressure into a goal in the 26th minute, with Noy tapping in Finn Robinson's low cross at the back post.

Joel Cockings spurned a huge chance to level almost immediately when he raced through on goal, but could not find a way past goalkeeper Dan Stedman, who did well to make himself big and stop the shot.

That proved pivotal as Wendron went up the other end and doubled the lead, with Walker turning the impressive Quirke's cross past his own 'keeper following a quick counter.

A shellshocked home side worked their way into the game at the end of the half, with Adam Solomon having a shot superbly blocked by a Wendron man.

A quiet second half burst into life on the hour with three goals inside either minutes. Noy bagged his second goal after firing in Stocker's pass from close range to extend Wendron's lead.

But Taylor gave the hosts a much-needed lifeline five minutes later by expertly heading in from a free-kick.

But Quirke quickly restored Wendron's three-goal advantage with a fine volley into the bottom corner to all but seal victory.

Substitute Cox grabbed a consolation in the third minute of injury-time when he raced through on his own and drilled a shot past Stedman.
