Penryn Athletic preserved their stunning 100 per cent record in the St Piran League West with a 3-2 win at Illogan RBL.

Jake Shaw gave the visitors the lead when he fired in midway through the first half, only for Macaulay Negus to level for the hosts before half-time.

Ryan Reeve had a goal disallowed just before the break, but Kegan McPhilbin restored Athletic’s lead ten minutes after it with a goal direct for a corner, before Nick Boase fired in from a free-kick.

Dom Batchelor pulled one back with a late penalty but Penryn held on for win number nine.

Second-placed St Day remain five points behind after they won 8-1 at home to Ludgvan.

Falmouth Town reserves drew 2-2 at Perranporth. Justin Miles and Ed Wilton scored for the hosts.
