Harrow Borough 1, Truro City 2

TRURO City picked up their third successive league win as the White Tigers ran out 1-2 away winners at Harrow Borough, writes Cameron Weldon.

Tyler Harvey’s fine form continued as the striker added two more to move his tally to five goals in three games since his return from Bath City.

Truro coming off the back of league wins over Hayes and Yeading and Yate Town headed to Middlesex looking to continue their impressive recent performances.

The White Tigers started well and saw the majority of the play. Will Dean saw two free kicks cleared by the hosts while Niall Thompson fired high and wide.

Truro were soon rewarded for their early pressure and it was that man Tyler Harvey with another goal. Luke Jephcott’s shot was pushed away only to the feet of Harvey who fired low into the far bottom corner to give Truro the lead after just 24 minutes.

More Truro chances followed. Niall Thompson picked out left back Ryan Law at the far post but the on loan Plymouth Argyle man couldn’t convert.

Thompson then forced the Harrow keeper into a sharp save before Dean played through Austen Booth but the midfielder couldn’t finish and fired over the crossbar.

Going into the second half the White Tigers remained in the driving seat and before long it was 0-2. Jephcott again was involved as the striker powered a shot at a Harrow defenders arm which saw the referee point to the spot. Harvey stood up again and made no mistake to score his second.

More City opportunities occurred. Firstly Harvey volleyed over the bar from a loose ball while Thompson couldn’t get the better of the keeper in a one-on-one and saw his attempt knocked away for a corner.

The home side did manage to pull one back with two minutes plus added time to play as Frank Keita headed past Hamon from close range. Despite a nervy last few minutes City held on to claim all three points, which moves them up to second in the Southern League Premier South table.

The White Tigers are back on Cornish soil on Tuesday evening as they welcome fellow title challengers Poole Town at Treyew Road (KO 7:45pm).
