MARK Goldsworthy continued his excellent season in front of goal with two more strikes as Helston Athletic recorded a 4-0 victory at home to Camelford.

Goldsworthy opened the scoring after five minutes before Ed Timmons scored his first Helston goal to double the lead midway through the half.

Goldsworthy missed the chance to extend the lead just before the break when his penalty was saved, but Billy Tucker made it three on 75 minutes with Goldsworthy netting his 31st goal of the season late on to wrap up the Blues' 14th consecutive league victory.

The hosts opened the scoring after just five minutes when Goldsworthy rifled in Timmons' low cross from six yards to give the Blues a dream start.

Helston continued to press with Phil Cattran firing just wide from the edge of the box, although Blues 'keeper Jason Robertson was tested once or twice at the other end.

But the home side made it two not before long, with Timmons grabbing his first goal in a Helston shirt since signing from rivals Porthleven last week, deftly glancing a header past goalkeeper Luke Gwillam at the near post from Billy Tucker's cross.

Goldsworthy was close to making it three when he powerfully headed Alfie Flack's cross straight at Gwillam from point-blank range.

But the striker missed an even better chance to put the Blues further ahead when Matt Bye was hauled down inside the box. The referee pointed to the spot, but Goldsworthy's kick was held by Gwillam.

Helston were frustrated in their attempts to get the elusive third after the break, with Kian Burns almost taking the advantage to get the visitors back in the game when he forced a save out of Robertson at his near post in the 73rd minute.

That woke the Blues up and victory was sealed a minute later, with Tucker beating the last defender to meet a long ball before rounding Gwillam and calmly firing into the net.

There was still time for Goldsworthy to notch his second of the game and 31st of a prolific season so far, just about beating the 'keeper to Phil Cattran's ball to knock it through his legs and into the net from 12 yards.
