SALTASH United kept up the pressure on South West Peninsula League Premier West leaders Helston Athletic with a 3-0 win at home to Newquay.

Shaun Cleary, Dave Barker and Sam Hughes all scored before half time as the Ashes moved to 11 points behind the Blues with three more games in hand.

Second-placed St Austell ran out 4-1 winners at home to Callington Town. Dan Perryman opened the scoring for the Lillywhites before Lee Robinson levelled for the vistors.

Jake Miller restored the lead on the stroke of half time before Perryman added a quick third to put the hosts in control at the break, with Harvey Hann notching a fourth in the second half.

Bodmin Town moved level on points with fourth-placed Mousehole thanks to a 3-0 win at Penzance. An own goal and a Max Gilbert strike put Bodmin two up at the break, before Dan Jennings completed the victory with a late penalty.

Kyle Fraser's late free kick proved to be the winner as Porthleven came from two goals down to beat Sticker at Gala Parc.

Tom Tallis and Derrick Lucas had put the Sticky two goals up inside 20 minutes before a goal in either half from Joe Wright levelled the scores, with Fraser firing home the winner with three minutes left of the 90.

St Ives Town closed the gap on St Piran League West leaders Penryn Athletic to four points following their 2-1 win at home to Helston Athletic reserves.

Alex Wharton put the visitors in front after just five minutes but goals from Joseph Day and Maxwell Clymo secured an important win for the home side.

Wendron United reserves had to settle for a 2-2 draw at home to Mullion. Despite falling behind, goals from Kian Thomas and Chris Mulroy put the Dron 2-1 up, only for the Seagulls to pinch a point midway through the second half.

David Mitchell scored twice as in-form Illogan RBL won 3-2 at home to Perranporth. Archie Condie scored Illogan’s other goal while Gavin Boon and Luke Wort netted for Perranporth.

Pendeen Rovers capitalised on Porthleven reserves’ inactivity to move six points clear at the top of the Combination League following a 2-0 win at home to Lizard Argyle. Alex Ralph and Glen Carew scored for the leaders.

Andrew Curnow scored third-placed Hayle reserves’ sole goal as they suffered a shock 2-1 defeat at bottom side St Agnes reserves.

Joe Paterson and Ricky Shilvock scored two goals each as RNAS Culdrose won 5-3 at St Day reserves. Elliot Courtman scored the Airmen’s other goal while Matt Wysocki, Sam Kee and Kiall Maugham netted for the Saints.

Elsewhere, Ruan Minor beat Rosudgeon 4-2 and Marazion won 6-1 at Perranporth reserves.
