Penryn Athletic FC have kept up their 100% record in the Mini league stage of the St Piran League Cup.

With just one more group game to go, Penryn will have high hopes to get going into the knockout stages of the cup

Following wins over St Agnus and St Day in the last two weeks the team saw off a brave challenge from a youthful Wendron side.

Wendron took the lead in the first minute with a neat finish from Bailey Packenas.

It took until the 26th minute for Penryn to force an equaliser by Ryan Reeve following an interchange with James Daniel.

Right on half time Penryn took the lead with a goal from Jack Rapsey.

The second half belonged to Penryn with Reeve completing his hat trick.

First from the penalty spot and then with a great finish on the turn.

Tyler Cooke completed the scoring shortly before the final whistle.

In a game full of goals, the game ended with a full time score of Penryn Athletic 5 - 1 Wendron Utd (Res).

The club are currently sat top of their group with nine points and a goal difference of +10, having won every game so far.

Penryn complete their group fixtures next Saturday against bottom of the group Perranwell AFC before moving on to the knockout phase of the competition.

St Day sit behind them in second place with Wendron United Reserves in third, St Agnes in fourth and Perranwell bringing up the rear in fifth place.
