Helston Athletic will be hoping to return to winning ways when they host second-bottom placed side Ashton & Backwell at Kellaway Park in the Toolstation Western League.

The Teams:

Three ties against Millbrook then title challengers Tavistock and Bitton have seen Athletic fall to ten points off the top but crucially The Blues have four games in hand over the league leaders. Last time out Athletic were knocked out of the FA Vase on penalties by Western League Division One Ashton & Backwell.

Top scorer Stu Bowker has netted 13 times in the league this season so far this season and Helston will be looking to take all three points at home for the first time since a 2-0 victory over Cadbury Heath on September 4.

Their opponents are struggling in the league with just seven points from their opening 12 games of the season. Their last win was a 4-0 win against bottom side Bridport on October 2.

In their last game they lost 4-5 on penalties to Bemerton Heath Harlequins in the FA Vase.

A win for Helston could take them as high as third depending on goal difference and results elsewhere, whereas a win for the visitors could take them above 17th placed Millbrook.

The Game:

The league fixture kicks off at Kellaway Park at 3pm. Tickets cost £5 per paying adult, £1.50 under 18, under 16s are free with an accompanying adult.
