Helston Athletic will be looking to reach the Third Round of the Cornwall Senior Cup when they host Liskeard Athletic at Kellaway Park.

The teams:

Athletic cruised past South West Peninsula League side Wadebridge in the last round with a convincing 0-4 victory. They go into this fixture having won their last game in the league 3-2 against second-bottom placed Ashton & Backwell United. Helston had been two goals to the good but were pegged back in the second half by their opponents before top scorer Stu Bowker netted from 25 yards to seal the three points.

Previewing the match Helston Athletic Manager Steve Massey said: "It is not a case that it's down our pecking order not at all it is something ever since I have been in the county it has been something that has been held with a lot of prestige and quite rightly and I'd quite like to get to the final. I've been to many finals as the media or the radio guy and I have never managed the team there, it is the only trophy I have not won in Cornwall and I have told the boys I would like to win it.

"We will be up for it, it is part two of this next month all being at home and we set ourselves a target of nine points and a quarter final place in the Senior Cup. We will be certainly not taking Liskeard lightly at all . I have seen them on a number of occasions this season, they have a number of decent players.

"We have taken a couple from them, it shows what a decent side they had. Tyler Elliot and Sam Carter now in our squad. We will be looking forward to it, the Senior Cup is always something special." He added.

Liskeard are currently third in the South West Peninsula League with 32 points from their twelve games so far this season. They smashed St Austell 7-1 in their last outing.

The game:

The match kicks off at 3pm at Kellaway Park the home of Helston Athletic. If the score is level at full time there will be extra time and penalties to decide the winner.
