Lux Park will be the venue for a battle of the top two sides in the South West Peninsula League on Saturday as leaders Falmouth Town travel to Liskeard Athletic.

The teams

Both teams are unbeaten in the league so far this season, with seven points separating the two teams although Liskeard have played a game less than Falmouth.

Falmouth took advantage of Liskeard not having a game last weekend by defeating third-placed Camelford 4-2 at Bickland Park.

Jack Bray-Evans bagged a brace to make it eight goals in as many games since joining Town from Newquay AFC.

There were also strikes from top scorer Luke Brabyn as well as midfielder Andreas Calleja-Stayne as they confirmed their 14th win in as many league games.

The victory against Camelford demonstrated a positive reaction from the Falmouth side who had suffered their first defeat of the season the week before in a 3-1 defeat to Buckland Athletic in the FA Vase.

But like Town, Liskeard have been on the losing side of the scoreline this season in cup matches.

They have lost two of their last three games in all competitions, both against Western League opposition, by crashing out of the Cornwall Senior Cup with a 3-2 loss at Helston Athletic as well as a 2-3 home loss to Keynsham Town.
