IT was Cornwall Intermediate Cup action for the Kernow Stone St Piran League premier division and division one clubs on Saturday with the competition throwing up a few shock results, writes Leon Prynn. 

RNAS Culdrose turned the tables on their premier league visitors Falmouth Town Reserves with a narrow 1-0 victory. The winning goal came six minutes before the break by Braden Danaher.

Unbeaten division one side Praze-an-Beeble also produced a giant-killing act when they were extra-time 2-1 winners away to Mullion Reserves. Charlie Hearn scored for Mullion, but Praze upset the odds with two goals from Alexandru Zamaneagra.

Illogan RBL were emphatic 6-0 winners away to Looe Town with the goals coming from Evan Pritchard (3), Ned Pritchard, Paul Wolstencroft and Nathan Hampton.

Perhaps the biggest shock of the day was unbeaten division one leaders Troon suffering a massive 8-0 demolition by St Ives Town.

Pendeen Rovers won their first game of the season when they edged a tight game at Sticker Reserves 2-0 with goals from Danny East and Alex Ralph.

Lee Rickard and Tim Peers scored for Foxhole Stars against Hayle, but the visitors ran out 4-2 winners with goals from Cameron Irish (2), Kieran Rennard and Williams.

Penryn Athletic bowed out of the competition after a 6-3 defeat away to St Dominick and St Day made short work of Boscastle with a convincing 5-1 win. Rob Heal scored for Boscastle.

Porthleven made it into the second round after a hard-earned 3-1 victory over Mawnan. Luke Wort scored for Mawnan.

In division one (West) Threemilestone got the better of Helston Athletic Development 2 after a high-scoring 6-4 victory and Wendron United III went down 3-2 at home to Ludgvan after the visitors scored through Josh Findlay, Will Southcott and Chris Bullock (pen).
