CUP football dominated divisions one and two of the Kernow Stone St Piran League (West) at the weekend with St Buryan pulling off the biggest shock of the first round in the George Evely Cup.

Languishing at the foot of division two having lost all seven league games, the Saints rose to the occasion by defeating division one St Agnes 2-1 after Jake Maddern scored the first and James Treleven  the winner.

Division one leaders Praze-an-Beeble were also given a tough examination by Newlyn Non-Athletico who have only won two of their eight league fixtures. Praze won the game by the remarkable scoreline of 7-5.

Another amazing scoreline came in the tie at Trevassack Park where Hayle Reserves demolished a depleted Falmouth United 11-2. Haydon Webber and Mike Rollason scored for United.

George Brown hit a hat-trick in West Cornwall’s impressive 5-1 win at Helston Development II. Robertas Sumnauskas and Ben Dawe had the other goals.

Constantine eased their way into the next round with a 3-0 win against Chacewater with Harrison McGuire, Keaton Prynn and Mason Taylor scoring the goals.

Mawnan cantered to a 5-0 win away to a Stithians side that showed a lot of character. Wasteful in front of goal, Mawnan scored through Will Harding (3), Luke Wort and Ben Harris.

Level at 1-1 at full time, St Day Reserves snatched an extra time winner to beat Penzance Reserves 2-1. Tyler Smith scored for The Magpies.

RNAS Culdrose won a tight game 2-1 against Porthleven Reserves after notching goals through Zya Sateri and Tom Smith. Port replied with a goal from Stephen Jory.

Camborne SoM have hit a rich goalscoring vein and trounced Threemilestone 6-2 whilst Wendron United III squeezed through 2-1 away to Ludgvan after Zach Alexander and Ben Wilkinson scored the goals. Josh Findlay had Ludgvan’s goal.

Falmouth Town Reserves gave the Premier Division some added spice in the title race after they defeated second placed Mousehole Development 3-1 at Trungle Park. Scorers for Town were Charlie Edney, James Henwood and Kian Thomas.

St Day are the new leaders after they were convincing 4-0 winners against St Just.

Porthleven are right in the mix after they had another clear-cut 5-2 win at Redruth United. Ross Atkinson (2), Fraser Paterson and Louis Bell (2) scored for Port and Connor Gilbert and Matt Grainger replied for United.

Pendeen Rovers chalked up their third successive league win after goals from Danny Earl, Alex Ralph and Doug Howard earned them a 3-2 win against Helston Development I.

After a goalless first half Mullion Reserves picked up a 2-1 win at St Agnes after scoring through Alex Carey and Jonty Wheatley.

Unbeaten Illogan RBL stayed on the heels of the league leaders with a well-deserved 4-1 win at Wendron Reserves. The goals came from Steve Abbott-Smith (2), Ned Pritchard and Jake Warman. Ben Fletcher scored for United.

Perranwell won their first round Tracy Banfield Cup tie 3-0 against Launceston after Ketan Cooper, Adam Selley and David Standing scored the goals.

In division one (West) Troon missed the chance to go back to the top of the table when they lost their unbeaten record after going down 2-0 at home to St Ives Town who scored through Max Clymo and Fred Horsell.
