WITH most of the Kernow Stone St Piran League (West) games called off because of waterlogged grounds, all roads led to Vogue Park where the leaders met title challengers Illogan RBL in the day’s big clash.

Despite twice being in front Illogan were unable to stamp their authority on the game and the unbeaten home side racked up an impressive 7-2 drubbing.

Illogan began well before a crowd of 127 with Archie Condie and Matt Allum both scoring, but each time Saints equalised through Dan Richards and Kyle Marks.
Marks put the home side in front and by half-time Luke Hart had beaten the ’keeper with a header from a free kick to extend their lead.

St Day dominated the second half with Richards competing his hat-trick and Luke Johnson scoring the other goal.

Perranwell picked up a useful three points away to Mullion Reserves after they edged the game 1-0 thanks to a goal from Ketan Cooper.

Gradually working their way up the table is St Just who polished off St Agnes 4-1 with the goals coming from Scott Meagre and an Ashley Ellis hat-trick.

In division one an eight-minute Jago Taylor second half hat-trick helped push Mawnan to the top of the table after they hammered Camborne SoM 8-0.

The students were much more of a handful than the scoreline suggests, but the home side’s clinical finishing through Taylor (4), Luke Wort (3) and John Leach paved the way for an impressive win.

Troon are back up into second place after they inflicted a 3-1 first defeat of the season on Ludgvan and Hayle Reserves’ resurgence in form continued at home to RNAS Culdrose who they beat 2-1 with goals from Josh Bevis and an own goal. Braden Danaher scored for the servicemen.

There was no shortage of goals at Underlane where Wendron United III and Porthleven Reserves shared the points after a 3-3 draw. Scott McElwee, Zach Alexander and an own goal were Wendron’s scorers and Dan Parker (2) and Ross Atkinson replied for The Fishermen.
