Helston Athletic FC played their part in an eventful 2-2 draw with Somerset's Street FC, despite finishing the game with ten men.

The match got underway on Saturday following a minute's silence and The Last Post to celebrate Remembrance Day.

A lively first 20 minutes went by without a goal, but very close to half-time, chaos followed a deep corner, and the deadlock was broken.

Helston's Aaron Bentley scored spectacularly just minutes before the whistle to put the hosts in front, with the away team frustrated to concede.

The second half saw renewed energy from Street FC, who started to cause Helston's own a couple of problems.

Helston were quick to retaliate with Jordan Copp restoring their lead just seven minutes later.

But it was not all sunshine and rainbows for the hosts, as further drama ensued.

Helston AFC were reduced to ten men following a red card.

Despite the setback, Helston maintained their composure for most of the second half until Street FC's Jake Horsey snatched a late equaliser, unfortunately injuring himself in the process.

Following an exceptionally extended half of 64 minutes and 46 seconds, the match ended as a respectable 2-2 draw.

Helston Athletic expressed their satisfaction post-match and said: "Congratulations and well done to Jordan Copp for another man of the match performance."

Street FC added: "Great effort from an injury ravaged Street."
