It's been a good week for Redruth United in the Kernow Stone St Piran League premier division after they picked up four points from two games to give themselves a chance of avoiding the one relegation spot, writes Leon Prynn

Having drawn 0-0 at Mullion Reserves in midweek they followed that with a 2-1 win at home to the same opponents at Clijah Croft with the crucial goals coming from Regan Barthorpe and Andrew Bishop. Nathan Davison had Mullion’s goal.

United now require two points from three games to be mathematically certain, but one point would be enough to see them climb above St Agnes on goal difference.

Third placed Illogan RBL were trounced 5-1 at home by Hayle and Helston Athletic Development I had the biggest smiles of the day after they won their local derby with Porthleven 3-0 with goals from Ollie Redd, Tyreece Gallaway and Ketan Cooper.

Mousehole Development and Perranwell finished all square at 0-0 and a second half goal by St Just edged out Falmouth Town 1-0 at Lafrowda Park.

Pendeen Rovers had a comprehensive 4-0 win at Wendron United Reserves after scoring through Alex Ralph (2, 1 pen), Davy Howard and Isaac Jay.

Only RNAS Culdrose can prevent Mawnan from winning the division one title after they thumped St Agnes Reserves 6-0 at Enys Park.

The servicemen can equal Mawnan’s current points tally with six of their games remaining, but it will be a tall order with Mawnan holding a goal difference of 56 which means Culdrose would have to win each of those games by at least nine goals.

On target for Mawnan, who have one game remaining, was veteran striker Dom Pullen (3), Ben Harris (2) and Kevin Morris.

St Day Reserves made it difficult for RNAS Culdrose at the air station with the servicemen picking up all three points with a 1-0 win thanks to a goal from Bill Burgess and Wendron United III’s impressive run of results continued with a fine 3-2 win against Praze-an-Beeble.

Porthleven Reserves had a 4-1 win over Troon, but the home side only led 2-1 until scoring in the 93rd and 94th minute through Josh Padgeth and Jevon Pryce. Ryan Trathen and Willem Lowdon had earlier scored first half goals.

Falmouth United enjoyed a 5-1 win away to St Buryan in division two and Penzance Reserves consolidated their fourth place spot with a 5-2 win at Constantine.

It’s going to be a nervous ending for the top three clubs in division three with all permutations possible.

Dropship did their goal difference a power of good with a runaway 8-0 win at home to Goonhavern Athletic after scoring through Tyler Prescott (5), Peter Norfolk (2) and Liam Chinn.

Probus trounced RNAS Culdrose Reserves 11-1 after snapping up goals through Tyler Cheshire (4), Sam Bullen (3), Adam Bishop (2), Joe Emmett and Jack Truscott. Ben Taylor had Culdrose’s consolation goal.

Level at 2-2 at half-time St Keverne took control in the second half at Lanner to finish 5-3 winners with a hat-trick from Stephen Jory and goals from Charlie Rideout and Tom Johnston.

Penryn Athletic Reserves demolished Perranporth 9-2 and in so doing set up a winner takes all situation for the second promotion spot when Mullion III entertain Perran in the final game for each club Helston Raiders lost their penultimate game to St Just Reserves 5-0.
