ILLOGAN RBL maintained their impressive start to the 2024/25 Kernow Stone St Piran Football League premier division (West) campaign with an excellent 2-0 win against Mousehole Development, writes Leon Prynn

The Oxland Park crowd were treated to goals by Robert Condie and Simon Ellis to overcome last season’s league runners-up.

Falmouth Town Reserves show no signs of slowing up as they chalked up their fifth successive win 6-0 away to St Agnes.

Mullion and Praze-an-Beeble shared the points after they drew 1-1 at Clifden Park with Dominic Hannaford scoring for Mullion and Ryley Stephens replying for Praze.

Helston Athletic Development accounted for Penryn Athletic 5-0 at Kernick Road with four of the goals coming in the second half. On target for the Blues was Sanuel Pallett (2), Ethan Jorey (2) and Joe Baker.

Redruth United are still searching for their first point after they went down 3-1 to Perranwell after the home side scored through Daniel Kim (2) and Ben Martin.

Just two games were fixtured in division one with a 4-0 win away to Porthleven Reserves taking Illogan RBL Reserves to the top of the table. Luke Abbott-Smith (2), Martin Jay and Ned Pritchard had their goals.

Mawnan staged a great comeback to win 3-2 after trailing 2-0 at West Cornwall. Luke Wort and Dom Sikorski got Mawnan back on level terms before the winning goal came from a terrific 20-yard strike by Wort.

The early pacesetters in division two are Dropship and Probus with Dropship notching up another big 8-0 win away to Perranwell Reserves after scoring through a Tyler Prescott hat-trick, Ryan Caddy, Harry Hounsome, Conner Hurrell, Paul Robertson and Finley Thomson.

Probus also have a 100 per cent record after they defeated 10-man Mawnan Reserves 5-0 with a Jack Truscott hat-trick and goals from George Truscott and Martin Bishop.

St Buryan made a winning start with a 7-1 win against St Agnes Res, but previous league leaders Holman SC were held to a high-scoring 4-4 draw by Newlyn Non-Athletico with Holman’s goals coming from Nathan Williams (2), Callum Faulkner and Sam King.

Division three looks a very competitive league with table-topping Falmouth DC losing their first match to Perranporth 4-2. On target for Perran was Oliver Keveren, Archie Ward, Kierren Faulkner and Dan Gilbert.

Goonhavern Athletic are hard on their heels after a narrow 3-2 win away to St Ives Mariners. Conner Clark and Jason Rule scored for Mariners and Jayden Andrew (2) and Louis Brown for Athletic.

St Keverne are still unbeaten after they disposed of Penryn Athletic Reserves 3-0 with the goals coming from Josh Wilson-Hone, Jacob Thornhill and Jacob Avery.

There won’t be a more fiercely contested local derby than the one between Carharrack and St Day III in which Carharrack triumphed 6-2 to win their first match of the season. Dylan Taylor (2), Cal Pearson (2), Steve Pilkington and John May scored for Carharrack.

Another side to hit six was St Erme/Godolphin in a 6-0 win against Mullion Reserves. Brandon McDonnell notched four goals and Luke Ewins and Freddie Murley had the other two goals.

In division four Mawgan came from 2-1 down at half-time to beat Newlyn Non-Athletico 4-3 and Troon Reserves beat Probus Reserves 4-2. Ryan Steed and Oliver Poulter were Probus’ scorers.
