Penryn Ladies 39 - Crediton Ladies 26
Penryn Ladies won their first league match of the season in an entertaining and hard fought victory against Crediton in which 11 tries were scored, seven for Penryn, writes Jonathan Plummer.
Penryn, under new coaching team Donna Darby and Scott Martin, had an excellent first half scoring four tries through flankers Paige Clarke and Heather Holmes. Also scoring were fly half Georgia Hall and Centre Milly Osman, Hall converting one try.
In a much closer second half Penryn scored three more tries through winger Lauren Angove - full back Lucy Mehta and Milly Osman getting a second try, Georgia Hall again getting one conversion. Crediton scored four tries of their own including three for England under 18 wing Tilly Pulfer.
This was a great start for Penryn to the league season, the first time they have beaten Crediton in several years. Forward of the match was Rosie Ninnis and back of the match was Lauren Angove.
This Sunday Penryn welcome Bath to the Memorial ground for their second league match, kick off is 2.30pm.
