Cornish football club announces new first team manager

Bua, having been at the club for the last seven years managing both youth and the adult development squad, is stepping up to bring fresh energy and innovative strategies to the club.

On this new appointment, Steve Massey, Helston’s football ambassador, said, "His [Dan's] approach to management is characterised by a focus on teamwork, discipline, and a deep understanding of the game.

"Dan’s philosophy aligns perfectly with Helston Football Club's values and aspirations."

The club's chairman, Paul Hendy, expressed his excitement about Dan’s appointment, stating, "We are delighted to promote Dan to Helston First Team.

"His track record with the development squad speaks for itself, and we believe he is the right person to lead our first team to success.

"We are confident that under his guidance, our players will thrive, and our club will continue to grow."

Dan himself shared his enthusiasm for the new role, saying, "I am honoured to become the first team manager.

"This is a fantastic opportunity, and I am eager to work with the talented players and dedicated staff here.

"My number one aim is to create a football team that Helston can be proud of, and playing an exciting brand of football."

Dan lives in Helston with his family and is keen to use local players as much as possible.

He continues, "I will be building my squad around a blend of the talented young players we have in West Cornwall and some more experienced players.

"We want to be as competitive as possible but accepting we are rebuilding Helston AFC from the disappointment of last season’s relegation."

On the younger players, he continues, "Having worked with many of them in the development squad for the last couple of seasons, I know their potential; they need to be given the opportunity to express themselves at the highest possible level.

"This is a new vision and new culture at Helston Football Club, which I’m eager to get stuck into!"

As the new season approaches, Bua's focus will be on preparing the team for the challenges ahead.

He plans to conduct rigorous training sessions, analyse opponents, and develop strategies that will maximise the team's performance on the field.

Dan’s commitment to excellence and his passion for the game are expected to inspire the players and create a winning mentality within the squad.
