Helston AFC has announced the addition of two new players to their squad.
This follows the departure of all but one player from the previous season.
Manager Dan Bua and his team have been tasked with rebuilding a competitive squad for the Western League.
Noah Teagle, a young centre-midfielder known for his passing range and vision, has joined the club from Wadebridge.
Also bolstering the ranks is Connor Paine, who brings a wealth of footballing experience after returning to the UK from coaching and playing in the USA.
As Helston AFC approaches its 130th anniversary, the club is focusing on local talent both on and off the pitch.
Before their first open-door pre-season game, Steve Massey said: "As Helston enters its historic 130th year celebration season, we’ve seen many successes over the last few years.
"Now back in the Western League, we are totally focusing on local talent, not just on the pitch but with the Management Group.
"We strive to provide the very best playing opportunities for all age groups in West Cornwall in a safe and inclusive environment.
"We continue to be proud of our place in the heart of our local community and offering a warm welcome to all our friends and visitors."
Helston AFC is set to play a pre-season friendly against Wendron Utd at Kellaway Park on Saturday, with kick-off at 3pm.
This will be followed by another friendly against St Day on Tuesday at 7.30pm.
Admission to both games is free.
While the focus has been on the first team and ground improvements, the Helston AFC Raptors U12s have been making waves off the pitch.
The young blues won all three group matches in a beach soccer competition at Polzeath Beach on Sunday, July 6.
They came from 4-0 down at half-time to win 5-4 in their last game.
The Raptors will now progress to the national finals in September.
Two of Bua’s 'young guns', Olly Redd and Toby Griggs, have also been representing the club on a college football trip to Tampa, Florida, USA.
This is part of their football development with the Plymouth Argyle Community Trust post-16 course.
The course provides youngsters with the opportunity to train and play as football scholars while studying for a BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma.
The trip allows the students to experience international playing and coaching opportunities and enhances their coaching and leadership skills.
The Cornish boys played a game against American opposition, beating Hernando Soccer Club 4-1, with both Helston boys scoring.
The trip also exposes the students to US college and university pathways upon completion of their current course.
