TRURO City have appointed former Tottenham and Plymouth Argyle player Lee Hodges as their new manager for the 2010/11 season.

Hodges, 36, had been on loan to Truro City from Torquay United since last October and took over the manager’s hot seat on a caretaker basis following the departure of Steve Thompson in March.

An impressive run of results towards the end of the season, which saw Truro win six out of the last nine league games, made him favourite to get the post permanently.

Chairman Kevin Heaney then confirmed him as the new manager on Monday. Hodges will have ex-City manager Dave Newton among his support team and is very confident that all last season's first team squad, with the exception of Marvin Brown, will re-sign.

“I am really looking forward to the challenge, especially after the way we finished last season,” says Lee, who has signed a one-year contract as player-manager.
