PAUL 145-6 Falmouth 101-8 Falmouth’s interest in this year’s Vinter Cup ended on Monday evening when they lost their quarter-final at Paul by 44 runs.

Paul made 145 for six in their 20 overs. Ryan Edwards made 54 and Matt O’Leary 37.

Jon Udy took two for 12. Adrian Noott top scored with 36 in the Falmouth reply of 101 for eight with Lewis Jenkins making 20. Justin Stephens and Neil Pengelly both took three wickets.

FALMOUTH II 174-7 TROON 175-2 Falmouth seconds find themselves at the foot of County Division One thanks to this defeat at Treslothan Road coupled with Luckett’s seven wicket win at Menheniot Looe.

Troon’s good run continued with an easy eight-wicket success with seventeen overs to spare.

Falmouth lost Scott Thompson and Jacob Stephens with only nine on the board. Chris Farndon (27) and Rob Eccleston (28) took the total to 64 before Farndon was lbw to Lee Caddy.

The innings fell away to 129 for seven before Lloyd Scott (25no) and Keiran Rodda (22no) put on an unbeaten 45. Caddy had impressive figures of three for 13 off ten overs. Tom Rowe with 77 and Ian Goldsworthy (60) put on 143 for Troon’s first wicket to virtually seal the game. Alex Stuthridge and Jacob Stephens were the Falmouth wicket-takers. Falmouth host Gorran on Saturday.

ST GLUVIAS 134 CONSTANTINE 138-5 Constantine got a welcome win in the derby at Kernick Road. Jake Preston made 36 and Gordon Scott 20 but Richard Kellow’s five for 33 was the decisive factor.

Darren Griffiths steered the visitors home with an unbeaten 52 after Julian Osborne made 23. Constantine host Paul seconds on Saturday while St Gluvias are at Redruth seconds.

MULLION 186-9 PERRANARWORTHAL 189-9 Perranarworthal pulled off a dramatic last ball victory at Mullion in a game they looked destined to lose at one stage.

Jim Spiers (23), Phil Bostock (30no) and Hal Parsons (14 no) dramatically took the visitors from 122 for eight to 189 for nine to win the game.

Mullion elected to bat but visitors had early success having Trevor Lee and Jack Casley caught behind off Carl Murphy to leave the home side 11 for two. Kevin Bosustow and Jim Pearson added 59 before Bosustow holed out for 39.

Pearson went on to a season's best of 77 but only Dan Gilman with 22 offered any real support. Gilman then took three early wickets as the visitors stuttered to 40 for three.

Murphy and Andrew Brotherton added 40 before both falling in the same over, after drinks, to Bosustow. Lee Coston fell for 0 and at 85 for 6 the match had swung Mullion’s way.

Two more wickets for Bosustow and Perran were 122 for eight but a vital 46 run partnership between Bostock (30no) and Duckham(33) set up the finale, with last man Parsons ending 14 no as the visitors, needing two of the last ball, smashed a straight four. Perran are at Rosudgeon on Saturday.

ST LEVAN 66 STITHIANS 67-0 Stithians maintained their 100 per cent record in division four with an emphatic ten wicket win at St Levan.

Glyn Furnival wrecked the home innings taking six of the first seven wickets to fall. He then made 24 not out in partnership with Simon Hamilton who was undefeated on 35 as victory came in only 7.3 overs. Stithians are at Chacewater on Saturday.

FALMOUTH III 251-2 MULLION II 122 Falmouth thirds remain in joint second after defeating struggling Mullion seconds at Channel Four.

Glen Page (87) and Steve Kellow (130no) put on 201 for Falmouth’s first wicket. Only Bruce Jordan had any success with the ball with two for 30.

After Joe Stuteley made 26 and Mark Johnson 19 it was Simon Meridew’s 31 not out that at least gained the consolation of three batting bonus points as Falmouth’s bowlers Dale Knowles, Jack Snell, Kirk Oldfield, Scott Kellow and Thomas Hoban shared the wickets.

FALMOUTH IV 126 PRAZE II 127-8 Falmouth's fourth team battled hard but could not quite over the line on Saturday when they suffered a narrow defeat away at Praze.

Falmouth dropped a place to sixth Division Six West after they lost the match by two wickets.

Captain James Toseland won the toss and elected to bat first. Paul Stephens and Mark Quilter got the visitors off to a healthy start but each were caught out in successive balls at the hands of Luke Hilliard.

After the openers departed only three batsmen, Toseland (28) Guy Pascoe (ten) and Morne Kaasjager (19) reached double figures and helped Falmouth pose a modest total of 126 all out.

Praze's effort to reach their target were shaken by an early breakthrough from Matthew Tippett and two wickets in two balls by Kaasjager at the other end. Tim James and skipper David Pimlott helped stabilise the innings but the home side suffered another setback when James was out caught to George Cridland.

More wickets began to tumble after Toseland became the third bowler of the day to find himself on a hat-trick. But Toby Pimlott, in with his father David, helped see Praze over the line with two wickets to spare, Pimlott senior ending up with the day's top score of 41 not out.

ROSUDGEON II 157-8 ST GLUVIAS II 161-4 St Gluvias seconds eighth win out of nine maintains a clear lead over St Buryan at the top of division five.
