THERE was good news for Truro City captain Jake Ash this week as a scan on his ankle injury has revealed that it isn’t as serious as medical staff feared.

Ash injured his ankle in a 4-3 win over Evesham in late August. Initially it was thought the central defender would be back within two weeks, but he has struggled to recover from the ankle problem and another scan was scheduled as fears grew.

However, this has revealed that Ash should be able to resume full training within ten days.

Long term absentee Scott Walker will also be back in contention in the next week or two, although Hodges is looking at the prospect of loaning out the midfielder in order to get him back to match fitness.

On the downside player-manager Hodges picked up an injury himself in the weekend’s win over Banbury. “I'm struggling a bit,” said Lee. “I don't think I’ve got a major problem, but I will be having physiotherapy today (Monday). “When I went for the ball, I jumped to head it, but my opponent didn’t jump, which made me flip over and land very awkwardly and painfully. At the moment I can’t lift my arm above my head.”

Truro City are due to play Swindon Supermarine on Wednesday evening and Halesowen on Saturday.
