Truro City's Andy Watkins is set for a scan on a hernia injury tomorrow (Friday) to see if he needs an operation.

The striker, who has been a pivotal part of Truro City's rise to the top of the Zameretto Southern League premier division, has missed the last few matches because of the injury.

He went to see a specailist on Wednesday, who recommended a scan.

"We were all hoping for clarity after yesterday and the consultant told him it does look like a hernia, but we're officially no further forward and we must now await the results of the scan," said City manager Lee Hodges.

"Andy's groin is very sore. It's not getting any better and he's well and truly out of action for the moment; he's not been training. If there had been any improvement, I'm sure he would have been involved in some of the last few matches."
