A great result for Truro who, with Salisbury drawing 1-1 at Didcot, could go back to the top of the league. Just how important that result will prove to be in two months time remains to be seen. The home side bossed the game from start to finish, but Cambridge will be disappointed not to have given a better account of themselves. Strikers Kodolynski and Hammond were denied the kind of service they're used to, and Aaran Pugh in particualr was immense in a solid Truro defence.

With Andy Watkins making a good recovery and Barry Hayles in scintillating form, Truro are in a good position as we enter the final phase of the season. It's all about holding your nerve now. Thanks for joining us this afternoon; see you next time!

00:94 FULL TIME! TRURO WIN 2-0!

00:92 Kodolynski has a shot that hits Adams's back. Not long to go now, surely?

00:90 McConnell fouls Midgley just outside the Truro box. The ref pulls play back and books Jake Ash for an earlier challenge. Good refereeing: Ash's challenge was a little reckless.

00:87 Truro playing a bit of keep-ball at the moment - not a bad idea if you're down to ten men and protecting a two goal lead. chaffey punts another hopeful ball into the box but that man Aaran Pugh's there to head clear.

00:85 Dan Smith comes on for Wayne Carlisle. The Truro new boy's had a decent enough game. Smith takes up his place out wide on the left.

00:80 More great defending from Aaran Pugh. He slides in to dispossess Midgley before scarmbling to his feet to keep the ball in. He's put in a great shift this afternoon. Truro still looking to get forward.

00:77 It's all gone a bit scrappy in the last ten minutes. Truro have lost some of their earlier fluency - although Hayles still lookos lively - and Cambridge seem incapable of beating the offisde trap. Today's attendance is 611, just in case anyone was wondering.

00:72 Afful's coming off for Scott Walker. Perhaps signalling manager Lee Hodges' intention to shore up the gap at the back after Jeanin's sending off. Sure enough, Walker's slotted in at left back.

00:70 Close for Truro! the sending off has done nothing to dampen their desire to get forward. Some snappy one-touch passing on the edge of the box sees Martin tee up Hayles, but he can't keep his shot on target. Great chance for Hayles to get his hat trick.

00:63 Truro playing three at the back now, and Cambridge can't seem to stay onside. Not for the first time this half Neil Midgley finds himself in acres of space but times his run poorly. Hayles is fouled deep in the Cambridge half, Truro free kick.

It's all happening here. First, a lightning break by Truro from a Cambridge free kick sees Barry Hayles latch on to a beautiful Barry McConnell through ball, before keeping his composure to slot past Barrett. 2-0 Truro!

Then moments later the jubilation is tempered somewhat as Alex Jeannin earns himself a red card for another clumsy challenge on Adrian Cambridge. He's been riding his luck and now it's run out. Truro 2-0 up and down to ten men!

00:60 GOAL TRURO!

It's a great finish from Barry Hayles! Les Afful received the ball with his back to goal just inside the box. He jinked and turned before losing his defender and drifting a cross in to the back post, where Barry Hayles was lurking to blast a first time volley past Barrett. Great finish by Hayles, and just when it seemd Cambridge were getting a foothold in the game.

00:54 GOAL TRURO!!

00:52 disallowed goal for Cambridge! The visting captain floats his free kick deep to the far post. It looks to have beaten everyone, but Kodolynski stretches a leg out and directs it back into the box where Theobald is lurking to slot home from a yard out, only for linesman Jason Gordon ot flag for offside. What a letoff for Truro!

00:51 Cambridge, the player not the town, scoops a shot wide of goal after some handy build up play. Free kick to Cambridge just outside the box after a clumsy challeneg from Jeannin. Could be dangerous.

00:48 Cambridge have started the second half brightly, putting Adams and Pugh under a bit of early aerial pressure. Truro deal with it and clear their lines.

00:46 And we're off, Truro shooting towards the clubhouse.

the teams trot out for the second half. It's been a decent game so far, but we could really do with a goal to pep things up. By the looks of it neither side have made any changes.

Soup, why didn't I get any soup? The temperature's dropping off here at Treyew Road. The romper suits are out for Truro's subs.

So we go into half time all square. Lee Hodges will be disappointed his side haven't capitalised on their dominance, but with another 45 minutes left to play he'll be confident they can get something from the game. Afful and Hayles have looked lively, and Ash has provided a calming presence in midfield, allowing Martin and Carlisle some licence to get forward. Aside from a shaky moment just before the break, Pugh and Adams have held firm at the back for the home side.

Cambridge, on the other hand, will be more than pleased to go into the break level. They've been second best so far, and were it not for some outstanding defending coupled with the odd moment of goalkeeping brilliance, the game would already be out of sight. Up front the much feted partnership of Kodolynski and Hammond has failed to make an impact, and they've cut forlorn figures, starved of service by a largely anonymous midfield. Cambridge will look to improve in the second half.

00:45 With the last action of the first half Barrett snatches the ball off the feet of Hayles. I don't think big Bazz knew much about that to be honest, but yet another great piece of goalkeeping by Barrett. HALF TIME.

00:43 A Bit of a scarmble in Truro's goalmouth sees Truro's centre backs hesitate for a moment. Hammond tries to get a foot to it but Rice clears. He and Jeaninn have a little bit of argy bargy off the ball. Could have been a costly mix-up for Truro.

00:41 Afful receives the ball with his back to goal just outside the box. He's too quick for Theobald on the turn and the burly Cambridhge defender takes a swing at him and brings him down. It's a yellow for Theobald. Moments later Barrett makes yet another save, this time from a shot by Taylor. Barrett's having a good game between the posts for Cambridge.

00:38 Cambridge are defending brilliantly at the moment. Chaffey and Hughes have been the immovable objects to Truro's unstoppable force. Barry Hayles twists and turns his marker inside the box and fires a shot, but yet again Hughes is there to stick out a size eleven and direct wide of the post. Yet another Truro corner comes to nothing.

00:35 Truro win a corner and Andrew Taylor beats the first man with it for the first time in the game so far. Set piece delivery has been poor for Truro. Pugh's unmarked and gets up well to connect with it but his header goes well over. Good chance for the home side.

00:33 Jake Ash unleashes a rasping volley from distance after a poor clearance from Cambridge. Barrett saves well.

00:30 Hammond goes through thte back of Alex Jeannin, then has a moan at the ref. David Bryant has a word with him. Corner to Truro.

00:28 Pugh's having a great game at the back for Truro. The aptly named visiting captain, Adrian Cambridge, delivers a cross from out wide on the right, and yet again Pugh clears with a towering header.

00:24 Afful goes down in the box after a heavy challenge from Dave Theobald, the ref waves it away as Truro protest, but moments later Afful alomst puts the home side one up after he chases a Marcus MArtin through ball and pokes a shot goalward. Barret gets down well to save.

00:20 Immediately Truro break with Marcus Martin. He plays a great ball out wide to Wayne Carlisle who whips a wicked ball into the box that splits the Cambridge defence, but no one's there to latch on to it. Moments later Carlisle thumps a shot into the legs of Dave Theobald. He should have shot earlier.

00:18 Barry Hayles tries dancing around two Cambridge defenders but only suceeds in losing the ball. Cambridge clear, but the visitors looks like they're defending awfully deep. That said, Chaffey goes close with a header after a Cambridge corner - poor marking from Truro.

00:13 Kodolynski and Steve Adams engage in what looks like a spot of ballroom dancing on the far side of the pitch. Free kick Truro. the home side have had the better of the opening 15 minutes, with Hayles and Afful looking lively.

00:09 Afful chases a lost cause and wins a corner. Cambridge keeper Barrett comes out to claim it, but ref David Bryant blows for an unfair challenge. Bit soft that.

00:07 Can you call that a shot on goal? Kodolynski tees up Midgley on the edge of the box, but the Canbridge midfielder's off balance and his shot loops well over. things have calmed down a little after a frenetic opening.

00:05 This is good stuff from Truro, with Afful and Hayles looking lively and causing the visitors some nervy moments at the back. Throw to Cambridge on the half-way line.

00:03 Afful puts the ball the wrong side of the post! Great work from Barry Hayles who looked like he was fouled before recovering and going on a barnstorming run into the box. His cutback found Afful off balance, and the pint-sized hitman could only scuff his shot wide. Great work by Hayles.

00:02 And we're off. A spot of early pressure from Cambridge, who have a corner, but it comes to nothing. Both sides look up for it.

Cambridge City sport two of the league's most prolific strikers in Craig Hammond and David Kolodynski. The pair have scored 32 of Cambridge's 52 goals so far this season.

Truro give a start to new boy Wayne Carlisle, who has a wealth of league experience, and judging from his record isn't shy of a shot or two on goal. All the ingredients are in place for a cracking match as the players take to the pitch. Cambridge, in sky-blue, will be shooting towards the clubhouse end.

A very good afternoon to everyone joining us for this afternoon's live updates from City's crunch game with Cambridge. It's just clouding over here at Treyew Road but there's a real buzz about the ground as expectant punters make their way steadily through the turnstiles. It's shaping up to be a decent crowd, and - Cambridge supporters aside - they'll all be hoping for a repeat of City's 6-0 demolition job on Salisbury. Team news just in:

TRURO CITY: Rice;l McConnell, Jeannin, Pugh, Adams, Carlisle, Taylor, Martin, Afful, Hayles, Ash (c) SUBS: Walker; Brooks, Broad, Smith.

CAMBRIDGE CITY: Barrett; Nicell, Krause, Theobald, Chaffey, Hughes, Midgley, Cambridge (c), Hammond, Kolodynski, Abbs SUBS: Sawyer, Robins, Lambert, Nightingale.

Truro City will face Cambridge City this Saturday at Treyew Road, in what promises to be one of the biggest games of the season for the Cornish Club.

Cambridge City currently sit in third place but are only two points behind Truro with two games in hand.

The match has the potential to be every bit as significant - and as memorable - as City's sensational 6-0 triumph at Salisbury last week.

It is undoubtedly a "six-pointer" and could have a major bearing on the eventual outcome as the leading teams battle it out for promotion. The race is still wide open, with the championship and promotion outright still within City's grasp - and several others', notably Cambridge's.

The battle for second place promises to be just as furious, with the runners-up enjoying home advantage in one or both of the play-offs.

The Packet will be at Treyew Road on Saturday for the game. Follow Live updates via this story.
