Bodmin Town kept up the pressure on league leaders Buckland Athletic as they beat Saltash United 4-1 on Wednesday night.
Sam Matthews gave Bodmin the lead after 10 minutes before Steve Colwell had a penalty saved by Ashes' keeper Paul Hider on the half-hour.
Saltash battled hard in the first half and deservedly levelled with a Marc Thorne penalty a minute before the break.
However, the turning point in the game came just after the break as Bodmin scored two quick goals through former Falmouth Town striker Danny O'Hagan and Mark Berry. Matthews then added his second goal of the game with 11 minutes to go.
