Truro City boss Lee Hodges described the 1-1 draw with Staines as ‘a point gained’ as his team look to avoid the drop from the Conference South.
Staines are currently in the relegation zone and City’s point against them on Saturday keeps the gap between the two sides at seven points.
“This was definitely a point gained,” said Hodges. “I really don't know why Staines are so low in the League. They have a lot of good players and they are a side with a lot pace and power. I don't think the match was very pretty to on the eye, but the boys put in a really good, battling performance, all over the pitch. Anything less wouldn't have been enough against a side who were on a high after an amazing 4-0 win away to Dover the previous week. We battled very hard and I think a draw was a fair result. That was the aim - to come away with something - and we achieved that.”
