Falmouth Town chairman Steve Kimberley said he is delighted that the club is moving in the right direction on and off the field, following a positive meeting with the Board of Directors on Monday.

Kimberley said the club is looking forward to a successful 2012/13 season in which both the first team and reserve side would be challenging for honours again.

He was quick to quash rumours surrounding his future and that of first team manager Alan Carey and reserve team boss Paul Murray.

“There has been a lot written about about our club in the past few weeks,” he said. “There was never any doubt that they (Alan and Paul) were going to stay,” said Kimberley. “The only people who were saying different to that were people on forums and the papers.”

“Paul has had a very successful season with the reserves, winning the Jolly’s Combination League and Cup double and Alan has done very well to finish third in the Peninsula League, which is no easy league to win.”

Speaking about Monday’s meeting. Kimberley, added that plans were being made to set up a pre-season friendly with Truro City for the Aubrey Wilkes Trophy, a competition Falmouth won in July last year “It was an extremely positive meeting,” added Kimberley. “I’m delighted that we are all moving in the right direction, on and off the field.”

Falmouth Town AFC Ltd, also issued a statement saying: “Following a very constructive meeting on Monday evening, between the Board of Directors, Alan Carey, Paul Murray and Steve Kimberley, very positive plans are in place for a successful 2012/13 season on and off the field.”
