The Carlsberg SW Peninsula League have today (Thursday) confirmed that Truro City Reserves will be deducted ten points from the league total.

Truro City applied for administration on Tuesday and it was revealed then by the Packet that both Truro City first team, who play in the Conference South, and the Reserves, who play in the CSWPL division one west, were set to be deducted ten points.

A statement from Phil Hiscox, secretary of the CSWPL, said:

"The South West Peninsula Football League Ltd has been advised officially that Truro City Football Club is subject to an insolvency event following the appointment of an Administrator on Tuesday, September 4.

"In accordance with Competition Rules relating to ‘Sporting Sanctions’ the club has had ten (10) points deducted from its league table score in the Carlsberg SW Peninsula West Division.

"This sanction is subject to Appeal but a club may only Appeal on the ground that the insolvency proceedings arose solely as a result of a Force Majeure event.

"Such Appeal must be submitted within seven (7) days of the date of notification of the sanction."

Truro City Reserves could appeal the process under a 'Force Majeure event' if they could prove that the the administration happened because of a chance occurrence, unavoidable accident or events outside the reasonable control of the party affected.

It is not yet known if Truro City Reserves will appeal against the deduction.

Truro City Reserves have yet to pick up a point this season having lost their opening two games.
