EXETER City Under-21s are set to visit Bickland Park on Thursday night for a special match against a Falmouth Town AFC All Stars side.

The match has been organised to raise money for local autism charity Spectrum, to help their bid to build an £8 million education and arts centre of excellence in Cornwall.

However, the match will also take on extra significance as it sees the two clubs, which legendary striker Tony Kellow played for, come together for the match.

Tony died in February 20, 2011, aged 58. He moved from Falmouth Town AFC to Exeter City in 1976, for a fee of £12,000.

He had an incredible scoring record for both clubs, including 150 goals in 377 appearances for Exeter City. He also scored a memorable hat-trick for the Grecians’ shock FA Cup win over Leicester City in 1981.

The match against Falmouth on Thursday, will see Tony’s nephew Richard Kellow, who has also played for Falmouth, line-up for Town alongside some other notable past players and legends.

Richard will also present a trophy to the winning team and they will be a minute’s applause before the match for Tony Kellow and Dave Gardner, another well-known Falmouth Town player who died of cancer in his mid-thirties.

Kick off will be at 7.30pm. Food and a raffle is also on offer at the ground.
