The Cornish Pirates have strengthened their squad by signing a fourth Exeter Chief on dual registration forms.

Exeter-born hooker Jack Yeandle, aged 22, is the latest recruit who will head to Cornwall along with Dave Ewers, Sam Hill and Jack Nowell.

Yeandle started his rugby at Crediton, as did Sam Hill and Kyle Marriott, and last season he played for Doncaster Knights. During his time at the University of Wales Institute, Cardiff, he also represented England Students.

Commenting with reference to their latest signing, Cornish Pirates head coach Ian Davies said: "I was first aware of Jack while he was studying at UWIC but as we already had three hookers in the squad we could not follow up our interest.

"Subsequently, when Dave Ward informed us he was signing at Quins I again spoke to Jack, but he had already signed with the Exeter Chiefs."

Mr. Davies added: "With the  background history I am obviously delighted that we are now able to dual register Jack for this coming season, as he has proven himself a strong physical presence both in the set piece and open play, so he is a welcome addition to our squad and we look forward to seeing him a Pirates shirt."
