Falmouth men's crew produced another brilliant display of rowing to secure their sixth World Pilot Gig Championship title in a row on Scilly.
Black Rock led from the start and were put under early pressure from Caradon. With oars desperately close the middle section of the race was very tense, before Caradon's threat faded and Talisman of Looe became the closest contenders to Falmouth's long-standing crown.
They moved to within half a gig's length of the leaders but Black Rock held them off for another memorable performance.
Earlier in the afternoon, Flushing and Mylor ladies' crew produced a sensational performance to finish second in the women's senior race at the World Pilot Gig Championships on the Isles of Scilly this afternoon.
It is the first time in their history that they have been on the podium, eventually losing out to the Caradon crew who were rowing Amazon. Scilly's Trevarthen finished third.
Falmouth won the men's supervets in Governor, with Helford River Gig Club finishing in second. Helford won the women's supervets' race, while Polvarth, rowed by the Roseland crew, finished second in the men's vets.
