In front of a gate of more than 2,000 spectators in 1959, Falmouth Town overcame rivals Truro City 6-3 to win the South Western League Cup at St Blazey after a titanic match, writes Keith Rashleigh.

Included in their side was England Amateur International Jimmy “Cannonball” Coates, who was stationed with the Royal Navy at nearby Culdrose.
The following season he captained Kingstonian in the FA Cup Amateur Cup Final in front of 100,000 fans at Wembley.
