WENDRON continued their impressive form by handily beating an in-form Illogan side by a four goal margin, moving up to second in the table in the process.

Brett Andrews was first on the scoresheet after 18 minutes, following a corner by Steve Brewer. The second goal came the same way ten minutes later as Jason Roberts met another corner from Brewer to double their tally.

Wendron continued their dominance in the second half and were soon rewarded, Chris Madeley claiming the goal from a hopeful long range ball which Lee Isaacs in the Illogan goal could only push into his own net.

Chris Mulroy crossed in the last ten minutes for Matt Rose to notch Wendron’s fourth and seal the win for them.

Wendron are now second in the table, only four points behind leaders Mullion with two games in hand.

Paul Murray, Wendron’s manager, said: “I was very happy with the performance considering we lost to Illogan 3-1 at their place at the start of the season. It was a good all-round performance and good to get the clean sheet.

“When you play Illogan you know you’re going to get a tough game and a physical encounter. They have got lively front players and are always a threat, but I always felt we were in control.

“We were fairly comfortable, although at one or two-nil they were always in the game. Kevin Toy in goal did extremely well, making two or three good saves “I was happy with the players’ commitment. I have got a very good bunch and we have put ourselves in a very good position now going forwards.”
