FIJIAN international Sam Matavesi has been re-signed as a Camborne player after three seasons away from the Cherry & Whites.

The South West One club announced on Wednesday morning the 23-year-old flanker had agreed to a return to Crane Park from Plymouth Albion.

Matavesi, whose brother Josh plays for the Ospreys, previously featured in the Town squad during the 2011/12 campaign and has also played for Top 14 side Racing Metro.

In 2013, he made two appearances for Fiji, the nation where his father Sireli comes from, in tests against Canada and Romania.

Director of rugby Liam Chapple said: "It's a huge signing for a club at this level and shows our intent to challenge for National League status."

His signing comes less than 24 hours after five squad members, David Mankee, Alex Ducker, Kieran Westlake, Shaun Buzza and Ashley Lawton, switched allegiances to rivals Redruth.
