Over 1,000 new cases of coronavirus have been recorded over seven days - more than double from a week ago.
The latest Government figures on Saturday evening (January 2) showed that there were 1,008 cases recorded in the week leading up to December 28 - with the most recent five days left off due to incomplete data not reflecting the true number of cases.
However, this seven-day total is only set to rise, with Cornwall seeing record case figures in recent days, including a new high on Saturday.

It is 518 more cases than in the week leading up to last Saturday (December 26) and 454 more than the weekly total on Wednesday this week (December 27).
The latest government map now shows 66 cluster areas, leaving just seven not registering: St Just & Land's End, Lanreath, Pelynt & Polruan, Looe & Polperro, Bodmin East, Saltash Latchbrook & St Stephens, Torpoint, and Crackington & Tintagel.
This could mean they have no cases at all, or they are too few to register, with the map only showing clusters when there are at least three confirmed results. Anywhere with between zero and two cases shows white in order to "protect the privacy of individuals and prevent disclosure."
The Covid clusters in south, west and mid Cornwall
There are a number of areas of Cornwall showing large spikes in cases – among the highest being in Newquay, which has seen 86 cases recorded in seven days across its two clusters, with the neighbouring areas also seeing high figures.
Newquay West had 45 in the week up to December 28, at a rise of 462.5 per cent on the previous week, with Newquay East 41 cases at a 215.4 per cent rise.
Neighbouring St Columb Minor & Porth had 54 cases (671.4 per cent up) and St Columb Major & St Mawgan 34 cases (277.8 per cent up).
Probus & Roseland has one of the highest individual cluster totals, at 44 cases (a rise of 549.4 per cent), while Truro has a combined 66 cases (30 in Truro South & Central, 24 in Truro East and 12 in Truro West).
Other areas with more than 20 cases include Hayle (29), The Lizard (23), Shortlanesend, Chacewater & Carnon Downs (28) and St Austell Central (28), with St Austell East & Carlyon Bay having a further 22 and St Austell North & Carclaze an additional 16.
Covid clusters in north and east Cornwall
Nowhere in Cornwall is as high as one area just over the border in Devon, however, where Keyham, across the water from Torpoint, has 139 cases at a rise of 4,533.3 per cent week-on-week, and a rolling rate of 1,812.3 cases per 100,000 people.
The overall rolling case rate for Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly is 176.3 cases per 100,000 people.
The map shows positive cases by 'Middle Super Output Area' - the name the government gives to the break-up of larger towns and groups of neighbouring towns and villages, with groupings covering a greater area than others.
The minimum population in each area is 5,000 and the average is 7,200.
