A well-known Falmouth couple have recently celebrated their diamond wedding anniversary.
Tony and Sally Robinson, 85 and 84, have been married since August 19 1961 and moved down to Falmouth, Cornwall in 1969.
The couple originally lived in south Manchester and for the first eight years of their relationship, Sally travelled with Tony, who was a Merchant Navy Officer at the time, on ships to Australia, New Zealand, the US, the Mediterranean and the Persian gulf.
Tony said: "We met when we were about 17."
Sally added: "Both our parents were very musical, and they used to hold chamber evenings were people played instruments, they'd gather together at people's houses.
"And we met on one occasion when Tony was coming back from HMS Conway, having been doing his Merchant Navy training.
"We didn't get together, as they say, until we were about 24."
Tony continued: "But we were in correspondence for a number of years."
Sally added: Well, I saw him in his uniform, that's really what did it.
"I don't know if he thought I was the most beautiful thing he'd ever seen."

"I'd known that for a long time," Tony replied.
"I feel we're stronger together than we would be individually."
The couple started their life in Falmouth after moving to the area following Tony being appointed as a pilot in Falmouth Harbour.
Tony and Sally had their first Falmouth house on Lansdowne Road, where they lived with their three children.
Sally said: "So we started a family, and when we moved down here we had a one year old.
"Now we've got three children and they're all still in Falmouth."
During their time living in Falmouth, Tony and Sally have been involved in a number of local projects, including being founding members of the theatrical society the 'Young Generation,' in which Sally was chairman and musical director and Tony was treasurer.
Tony is also a long-term member of the Falmouth Rotary Club and has twice been awarded the Paul Harris Award for services to humanity.
Sally was awarded the BEM on the Queen's birthday for services to community arts.
