To celebrate Curry Week this week we've spiced things up today with a round-up of the best Indian cuisine Cornwall has to offer.

There are few things we the British public love more than a good curry, apart from perhaps commenting on the weather.

With this in mind, we've collected the ten best curry houses across Cornwall, according to Trip Advisor reviews.

  • 1. Daaku

Located at Islington Wharf Boatyard in Penryn, Daaku is the highest rated Indian restaurant in Cornwall, according to Trip Advisor reviews, with the vast majority of its reviews claiming it to be 'Excellent.'

Daaku's cuisine focuses on Indian street food as well as other Indian and Asian dishes.

Vegetarian friendly, vegan, gluten-free are also available.

  • 2. Kathmandu Palace

Previously ranked in the 20 top Curry restaurants in the UK, Kathmandu Palace takes our second place spot.

Located in the shadow of Truro Cathedral on Old Bridge Street, the restaurant serves up Indian, Asian and Nepalese dishes as well as catering to a variety of dietary requirements with vegan, vegetarian and gluten-free choices on its menu.

  • 3. Sultanz

Camborne-based Sultanz is next up on the list.

Having been ranked the best Indian restaurant in the town in a separate list, Sultanz serves up Indian, Asian, Balti, and Bangladeshi dishes in its restaurant on Basset Street in Camborne.

Sultanz does not serve alcohol and so guests are advised they can bring their own.

  • 4. The Journeyman Restaurant & Cookery School

The Journeyman Restaurant & Cookery School ranks in fourth place on our list, with its Indian, Asian, Balti, and fusion offerings.

Located in Mellingey Mill St Issey in Padstow, the restaurant has also been awarded the 'Travellers Choice' badge by Trip Advisor.

As well as having vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free options, The Journeyman Restaurant & Cookery School is often complimented on its interior setting and ambience.

  • 5. The Himalayan Spice

Halfway through the list and we've arrived at The Himalayan Spice.

Based on Castle Street in Liskeard, The Himalayan Spice provides both in-house dining and a takeaway service and serves up a combination of Nepalese specialities and classic Indian dishes.

Having previously been a finalist for the 2021 British Curry Awards, the restaurant is well-received by locals and visitors alike.

The Himalayan Spice has a full bar and is wheelchair accessible.

  • 6. Yak and Yeti

Another entry for Truro at number six with the Yak and Yeti restaurant, located on Kenwyn Street.

The Yak and Yeti serves up a selection of Indian, Asian, Balti, and Nepalese dishes which guests can enjoy either inside the property or out in the restaurant's terrace garden if the weather allows.

According to its website, Yak and Yeti owner, Sunny, grew up in the Himalayan mountains and is always happy to share a story of his homeland for curious visitors.

  • 7. Balti Curries

Falmouth's first appearance on our list comes courtesy of Balti Curries, located on Arwenack Street.

The menu at Balti Curries features a selection of Indian, Asian, Balti, and Nepalese dishes as well as including vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free options.

Balti Curries in Falmouth is another Indian restaraunt that Trip Advisor has awarded a 'Travellers Choice' badge, with some reviews from locals claiming it to be 'The best Indian restaurant in Falmouth.'

  • 8. Chennai Indian Fusion

Heading up the bottom three on our list is Chennai Indian Fusion, in Looe.

Nestled in on Buller Street, Looe, Chennai Indian Fusion reportedly takes pride in combining herbs and spices from several different regions of India, including Goa, Rajestan, Bengal and Kashmir.

The restaurant only serves soft drinks so guests are advised to bring their own alcoholic beverages should they wish, with the restaurant also offering free corkage.

  • 9. Namaste Kitchen

Coming in at number nine is another entry for Falmouth with Namaste Kitchen.

Located just a little down from previous entry Balti Curries on Arwenack Street in Falmouth, Namaste Kitchen offers a selection of Indian, Asian, and Nepalese cuisine.

According to the restaurant's website the name Namaste, also called Anjali Mudra, is a form of greeting with palms pressed together and fingers pointing upwards, with a slight bow of the head, and is a gesture of utmost respect.

10. Massala

Last but certainly not least is Massala, based in Perranporth.

Massala serves a selection of Indian, Asian, Balti, and Bangladeshi cuisine from its restaurant on Pirans Road in Perranporth.

Guests are able to fill their lunch time or dinner needs as well as order takeaway if not looking for an in-house dining experience.

Massala is another Cornwall-based Indian restaurant that caters to a variety of dietary requirements with vegan, vegetarian and gluten-free choices on its menu.
