Since the onset of the Covid-19 pandemic, various rules have been put into place to help stop the spread of the virus.

These included limits on the number of people allowed to gather in one place at the same time as well as restrictions on how much time could be spent outside while living in tiered areas.

Over this period of time, a plethora of people were fined for breaking these new rules in Cornwall.

Here's our round up of Cornish residents fined for flouting lockdown rules.

  • Faye Squire, 23, of Kinsman Estate, Bodmin:

Squire was fined in for participating in a gathering of two or more people without reasonable excuse while in a Tier 4 area.

The offence took place in January 16 2021 at a residential address on the Kinsman Estate in Bodmin.

She appeared in front of magistrates at Bodmin Magistrates' Court last month and plead guilty to the charges.

Squire was fined £320 and made to pay costs of £90 as well as pay a surcharge to fund victim services of £34.

  • Conan Weir, 26, of Vivian Road, Bodmin:

Weir was fined for participating in a gathering of two or more people without reasonable excuse while in a Tier 4 area.

The offence took place in an public outdoor space, namely Harleigh Road in Bodmin on February 16 2021.

Weir appeared in front of magistrates at Bodmin Magistrates' Court in September, where the charges were proved.

He was fined £1,760 and made to pay a surcharge to fund victim services of £176 as well as costs of £90.

  • Tyler Thomas-Knight, 26, of Flamank Park, Bodmin:

Thomas Knight was fined for participating in a gathering of two or more people without reasonable excuse while in a Tier 4 area.

The offence took place in an public outdoor space, namely Harleigh Road in Bodmin on February 16 2021.

Weir appeared in front of magistrates at Bodmin Magistrates' Court in September, where the charges were proved.

He was fined £1,760 and made to pay a surcharge to fund victim services of £176 as well as costs of £90.

  • Sean Walsh, 54, of Mount Camel, Camelford:

Walsh was fined in for participating in a gathering of two or more people without reasonable excuse while in a Tier 4 area.

The offence took place on February 16 2021 in a residential dwelling in Mount Camel in Camelford.

Walsh appeared in front of magistrates at Bodmin Magistrates' Court in September, where the charges were proved.

He was fined £1,760 and made to pay a surcharge to fund victim services of £176 as well as costs of £90.

  • Todorka Hristova Kostadinova, 30, of Mount Wise, Newquay:

Kostadinova received a fine for participating in a gathering of two or more people without reasonable excuse while in a Tier 4 area.

The offence took place on March 12 2021 at a residential address on Pendarves Street in Camborne.

Kostadinova appeared in front of magistrates at Bodmin Magistrates' Court in September, where the charges were proved.

She was fined £1,760 and made to pay a surcharge to fund victim services of £176 as well as costs of £90.

He was fined £200, made to pay a surcharge to fund victim services of £34 and had to pay costs of £400 to the Crown Prosecution Service.

  • James Polley, 24, of Morwenna Gardens, Perranporth:

Polley received a fine for participating in a gathering of two or more people without reasonable excuse in a Tier 4 area.

The offence took place on January 23 2021 at a residential address on Alexandra Road, in Illogan, Redruth.

Polley appeared in front of magistrates at Bodmin Magistrates' Court in September, where the charges were proved.

He was fined £1,760 and made to pay a surcharge to fund victim services of £176 as well as costs of £90.

  • Devon Bennet Murray, 20, of Meadow Drive, Saltash:

Bennet Murray was fined for participating in a gathering of two or more people without reasonable excuse in a Tier 4 area.

The offence took place at a residential address in Meadow Drive in Saltash on February 19 2021.

Bennet Murray appeared in front of magistrates at Bodmin Magistrates' Court in September, where the charges were proved.

He was fined £1,760 and made to pay a surcharge to fund victim services of £176 as well as costs of £90.

  • Sean Williams, 33, of Fords Row, Redruth:

Sean Williams received a fine for for being outside in a Tier 4 area without a reasonable excuse.

The offence took place on January 26 2021 on Fords Row in Redruth.

Williams appeared in front of magistrates at Bodmin Magistrates' Court in July where the charges were proved.
