A Cornwall-based community interest company Dance Centred have set up a scheme to help people stay active through the winter.

Their solution, they claim, is their Physical Postcards which give motivation and prompts for ways to get moving at home whether seated or standing, so ideal for those that are unable to leave the house or have limited mobility.

Each postcard combines fun images, clear illustrations, and text prompts to make getting involved as easy as possible.

The free 12-week programme which starts on January 3 2022 is providing postcards to get the people of Cornwall moving.

People can sign up until December 11 with the first postcards and welcome letter landing on doormats at the start of January.

People are encouraged to sign up for themselves and recommend to their friends and relatives especially those that may be isolated or digitally disconnected.

Lois Taylor, Co-director of Dance Centred, the organisation behind the project said: "We are delighted that Active Cornwall and Public Health Cornwall are supporting Dance Centred for the third rollout of our Physical Postcards programme.

"The project was started during lockdown as a way of helping those who were at risk of feeling isolated to have some form of connection.

"If you or a loved one doesn't have access to the internet, then this project is a great way of getting something direct to their/your home that you or they can use time and again as a little pick me up"

To sign up call the Physical Postcards Hotline on 07936 648347 or 07730586306 Monday to Friday 10am-6pm or email physicalpostcards@dancecentred.co.uk.
