A teenage girl who collapsed outside Tesco in June has sadly died with her funeral date announced and everybody asked to wear blue and yellow clothing.

The sad news was announced on the Falmouth and Penryn community Facebook page today that Ria Ellen Smith had died aged 19 on July 13.

Posting on Facebook, Melissa Gallie said: "It’s with a heavy heart and tears in my eyes I am updating you about the young girl who collapsed outside of Tesco in June.

"With her mum’s consent I am letting the community know Ria Smith has sadly lost her precious life to be in Heaven.. please can we take this opportunity to leave your thoughts with Ria's family."

Ria's funeral service will take place on July 28 at 1pm at Penmount Crematorium, Truro.

Following the funeral people are invited to join the family at The Trelowarren Arms, Budock to share memories and light refreshments.

People are being asked to wear yellow or blue coloured clothing or flip flops if they wish to share Ria’s love of flip flops and her bright, cheerful nature.

Emergency services were called to the Tesco Express store in Killigrew Street on June 27 this year to reports a person had collapsed 

Two ambulances were reported to be at the scene with people in the store at the time saying it was temporarily closed.

A spokesperson for Devon and Cornwall Police said officers assisted ambulance colleagues outside Tesco in Falmouth following a report of concern for the welfare of a woman.
