Police have confirmed that a body has been found in the search for missing Penryn man who left his home in the pouring rain wearing nothing but a T-shirt and bottoms.

Police were called out on Saturday, March 9 following concerns for the welfare of a man in his 50s who missing from his home in the Penryn area.

After an extensive search by police his body was found in woodland close to Treliever Road near Tremough Campus on Sunday at around 12.40pm.

The police say the death is not being treated as suspicious and his next of kin has been informed.

A spokesperson for Devon and Cornwall Police said they were called at around 10.15pm on Saturday: "Police were called on Saturday 9 March following concerns for the welfare of a man in his 50s who missing from his home in the Penryn area," they said.

"Searches took place but the body of a man was located in a wooded area close to Treliever Road, Penryn, at around 12.40pm.

"This death is not being treated as suspicious and his next of kin has been informed.

"A file will be prepared for the coroner."

Yesterday a public appeal went out on Facebook to try and locate Dean who was said to have left his home in the pouring rain in just a T-shirt and bottoms and hadn't been seen since.

Mr Wright from Penryn was said to be be considered vulnerable and there were concerns for his safety.

Mr Wright had last been seen at his home in Penryn on March 9 (Saturday) at 4pm and was said to be only wearing a T-shirt and bottoms, either jeans or jogging bottoms.

He had not made contact since he disappeared and his family said they were becoming increasingly concerned about him.
