Police are appealing for witnesses following a third break-in at a store in Helston this morning.

Police are investigating a break-in at the Spar shop based at Texaco Garage on Clodgey Lane in Helston.

Officers arrived at the scene at around 3.50am this morning (Tuesday) where they found that entry into the premises had been by smashing a glass door.

A spokesperson for Devon and Cornwall Police said: “Police were called at around 3.50am on Tuesday 14 May following reports of a break-in at a commercial premises in Clodgey Lane, Helston.

“Upon officers’ attendance, it was found that access had been gained to the property by smashing a glass door.

“It is believed suspects entered before stealing items and leaving the scene.

“Anybody with information is asked to call police on 101 or via our website quoting reference 50240115577”.

The shop was running as normal this morning following the incident. 

This is the third such incident in Helston in just two days. Police are urging anyone with information about this or the previous break-ins to come forward.

The Packet reported yesterday that Spar at the top of Meneage Street and the Londis Store on Coinagehall Street were burgled on Sunday evening and during the early hours of Monday morning.

There were also reports that the garage at Sainsbury’s was also targeted, but this has not been confirmed by the police.
