After the Cornwall Senior Cup Quarter Finals, last week attention turns back to the league for many sides in Cornwall this Saturday.

That is with the exception of Falmouth Town who are playing their rescheduled Walter C Parson Cup match at leaders of the South West Peninsula League East division Okehampton Argyle.

The game was due to be played earlier in the month but covid cases in the Argyle squad hampered the fixture causing the delay.

Falmouth go into the fixture having eased past Newquay 4-0 last weekend in the Senior Cup Quarter Final.

Okehampton are on a four-match unbeaten streak winning their last game 2-1 against Ivybridge Town resulting in Argyle having a seven-point lead at the top of the league.

Elsewhere there is a battle of sixth vs fourth in the Toolstation Western League as Helston Athletic host Bridgwater United. Helston haven't played a home league fixture since a 1-0 win (which was the last time they took three points) against Shepton Mallet on November 20.

Though the Blues exited the Senior Cup last weekend with a 2-1 defeat to Western league rivals Saltash they will be buoyed by the midweek signing of centre back Jordan Bentley from Bodmin Town.

Falmouth Packet:

Wendron United will be looking to make it five league wins in a row when they travel to bottom-placed St Dennis. As well as their fine league form Wendorn progressed into the semi-final of the Senior Cup last week with a  2-1 win over Sticker.

Last time the sides met was way back in September when a Charlie Young brace and a strike from Jack Stocker helped the hosts on their way to a 3-2 victory.

Penryn Athletic are back at Kernick Road for the visit of 16th placed Penzance. Athletic were beaten in the dying stages last week against Bodmin and will be seeking to avoid losing a third game in a row.

Three points for Penryn could move them up to tenth depending on results elsewhere.

Falmouth Packet:

In the St Piran League West Porthleven are on their travels as they trek to face sixth-placed Ludgvan.

Porthleven are currently 12th in the table and lost last week 4-1 to Truro City Reserves. No match for league leaders St Day allows Illogan RBL the opportunity to close the seven-point gap at the top of the table when they host ninth-placed Helston Athletic Reserves.

There is no game for Falmouth Town reserves while there is a battle at the bottom as St Ives Town host Mousehole Development

Falmouth Packet:

Neither of the top two sides in the Combination League are playing this week which presents a chance for third-placed Mawnan to catch up with the leaders when they take on lowly Lizard Argyle.
