Further update Saturday: Treza Farm has now closed due to the all-day heavy rain. People are asked not to drive to Porthleven but to catch the park-and-ride service detailed below.

Update Saturday: Due to the weather, the football is not operating as a car park to prevent damage to the pitch. The cricket club has opened for cars only and there is parking at Treza Farm for the cost of £5, with organisers operating a shuttle service until 6pm for the price of £1 for the trip.

There is also a park-and-ride service from Penrose car park in Helston. The car park is free, and the Shuttle service is £2 per trip, running until 10pm.

With Porthleven Food Festival now in full swing, organisers of the event have given visitors information regarding parking and other ways of getting to the event.

As thousands of people are expected to descend on the village over the three-day event, Porthleven Food Festival organisers have offered advice and information about where to park if coming by car.

Since 2019 organisers have removed the ‘residents' parking passes’ and installed an improved traffic management plan that was well-proven at last year’s festival.

Road closures will be in place along the Harbour Head on Saturday and Sunday. Additional traffic control measures will occur around the village and on approaches.

The traffic control measure is in place to prevent problems with visitors parking in residential and event areas.

Porthleven residents, businesses and staff are urged to carry evidence to help food festival staff identify those who are working there or living there.

Visitors are encouraged to use the event car parks and not park in residential areas and back roads as it will allow the event to operate smoothly.

Car parks will be provided at Porthleven Football Club, Cricket Club and Porthleven Camping on Tolponds Road. However, Methleigh Farm is not to be used as a car park.

Kittos Field and Withy Field Carparks will be closed to the public.

The Park and Ride services will operate from Penrose Carpark in Helston. The shuttle services will cost £2 each way.

There is also the opportunity to walk to the festival via Penrose using the new footpath.

A post on the Porthleven Food Festival Facebook page reads: “Please be polite to the event staff and let them know if you have any concerns. They will be happy to provide advice and support to allow us all to enjoy the festival.

“We look forward to seeing you soon.”
